Tech enabled logistics and fulfilment specialist, Diamond Logistics has announced the next phase of Despatchlab, its proprietary logistics management platform which brings together fulfilment, multi-carrier shipping and warehouse management into a single system.

The latest update introduces intelligent dashboards and new Agentic AI capabilities designed to help businesses gain greater insight from their logistics and fulfilment data and make more informed decisions.

It reflects Diamond’s belief that technology should make life easier for businesses, providing clearer insights and helping teams make better decisions day to day.

Recognising that every business has different priorities, Despatchlab’s new customisable dashboards allow users to build a personalised view of the data that matters most to them.

From stock levels and order volumes to delivery performance and customer activity, users can now access key metrics quickly and easily, creating a workspace tailored to their business and way of working.

The platform’s flexible design also means new capabilities can be introduced as customer requirements evolve.

Perhaps the most exciting development is the introduction of Agentic AI. Rather than asking users to build reports manually or navigate complex reporting tools, Despatchlab’s AI Agent allows them to simply ask questions in plain, simple English.

Putting this into context, Kate Lester, CEO and founder at Diamond Logistics, commented: ‘For example a business owner could say: show me the stock levels and order volumes for our top ten products over the last 12 months, add trend lines, and recommend replenishment quantities for the next six months.

‘Within moments, the Agent can generate visual dashboards, bespoke reports and actionable insights, helping to turn raw operational data into information that businesses can use. Ultimately, it is about removing the barriers between users and their data, making it easier for everyone to access the information they need, regardless of their technical ability.”

Currently in advanced testing, the agent is planned for release later this year.

The latest capabilities added to Despatchlab have been developed using modern, scalable architecture and a combination of leading large language models, enabling Diamond to select the most appropriate AI technology for each application.

The intelligent dashboard builder is powered by Claude Opus, with Despatchlab’s conversational Agentic AI capabilities currently being developed and tested using OpenAI technologies.

This flexible approach enables Diamond to continue enhancing the platform as AI evolves, giving customers access to new tools and capabilities without disrupting the way they work.

Forming a wider AI strategy at Diamond Logistics, the company launched an internal AI apprenticeship programme earlier this year, bringing together colleagues from across different departments and areas of expertise to explore practical ways AI can be used to support teams improve processes, and deliver genuine value for employees, network partners and customers alike.

By combining operational knowledge with emerging technology, Diamond is creating solutions driven by real life business challenges rather than introducing technology for technology’s sake.

Kate Lester continued, ‘Technology should simplify logistics, not complicate it. We have continually invested heavily in Despatchlab year on year because we believe the right technology gives people the ability to make better decisions, deliver better service and grow their businesses.

‘These latest developments to the platform take us to a whole new level – moving beyond just traditional reporting. Instead of searching through data, our customers can simply ask a question and receive meaningful answers in seconds. It is a real life concept that is incredibly powerful, and it is only the beginning of what Agentic AI will deliver within Despatchlab.

‘As we continue to invest in AI and automation, we remain focused on one core principle – creating technology that gives businesses more time to focus on their day to day operation while Despatchlab handles the complexity behind the scenes. We are passionate about pursing that goal and continuing to develop our own in-house technology that genuinely supports businesses rather than creating more challenges for them to manage. We believe we are well on that journey and excited about what comes next.’
