Courier News has launched its first digital magazine, bringing together the latest news, insights and developments from across the courier, delivery, transport and logistics industries.
The inaugural edition, which was released today (Tuesday), marks a new chapter for Courier News as the platform builds on its daily news service with a dedicated digital publication designed to explore the trends, technologies and challenges shaping the future of the sector.
Sustainability takes centre stage in the magazine’s first major feature, ‘Taking the Green Road’, which examines how courier and delivery companies can reduce emissions while also improving operational efficiency. The feature explores the growing adoption of electric vehicles and cargo bikes, alongside smarter routing, reduced failed deliveries and better utilisation of resources.
The magazine also examines the practical challenges facing businesses. Research featured in the issue shows that 92% of small and medium-sized businesses in the transport, distribution and logistics sector still consider sustainability a priority, despite rising fuel costs, freight disruption and wider economic uncertainty.
Technology is another defining theme.
A dedicated feature on artificial intelligence explores findings from Parcelhero’s new ‘Putting the AI into Supply ChAIns’ report, which suggests that AI adoption among UK transport and storage businesses increased from 16.1% to 27.1% during the first three months of 2026.
The report highlights the growing use of AI for route optimisation, demand forecasting, warehouse automation and supply chain visibility, while also warning that legacy systems, data quality and workforce skills remain important barriers to adoption.
Elsewhere, the magazine explores the changing expectations of consumers. Research from AlixPartners shows that free shipping now influences 94% of purchase decisions, while consumers expect free delivery in an average of just 2.7 days. The findings underline the growing pressure on retailers, carriers and logistics providers to combine speed and reliability with sustainable and profitable delivery models.
Alongside the magazine, Courier News is also preparing to launch a new podcast in autumn 2026, with the publication currently inviting industry leaders, technology experts, fleet specialists, sustainability professionals, entrepreneurs and innovators to become guests.
