People heading off on holiday this summer are being warned not to let deliveries pile up at home – with parcels clogging up hallways or getting damp in a shed.
Parcel delivery company Evri is urging customers to take advantage of simple options that give people more choice and control when they are not home.
The easiest way to avoid missed deliveries is for consumers to simply divert their parcel to a local ParcelShop or locker.
ParcelShops will hold a parcel securely for ten days, with no extra charge – perfect if someone is away for a week or longer. Lockers hold parcels for three days, but offer extra flexibility – including the option to share the collection QR code with someone who is trusted, so that the parcel can be collected.
With more than 12,500 locations nationwide, it is easy to pick a convenient spot near home, or even on the way back from the airport. By choosing an alternative delivery option, customers can head off on holiday knowing their parcels are safe, secure and waiting for them – without relying on neighbours or worrying about items being left unattended. Consumers can find their nearest location at: www.evri.com/find-an-evri-location.
‘No one wants to come back from holiday to find they have had to rely on neighbours for weeks. The good news is that avoiding missed deliveries is easier than many people realise. Customers can divert parcels to a local ParcelShop or locker in just a few taps, giving them greater control and peace of mind while they’re away. At Evri, we are focused on making deliveries fit around real life and how people live today, providing more choice and flexibility so customers can receive every parcel, every way,’ said Henry Cartwright, director of ParcelShops and lockers at Evri Group.
‘We spend so much time planning our holidays that it is easy to forget about deliveries that might arrive while we are away. I am pleased to see Evri encouraging customers to make use of the delivery options available before they travel. Taking just a couple of minutes to update your delivery preferences could make all the difference, leaving you free to relax and enjoy your holiday with greater peace of mind,’ said Jane Hawkes, consumer champion and travel expert.
