Growing family run logistics specialist Marshall’s Transport has extended its supply chain partnership with sustainable hygiene solutions business Lucart.

The new contract extends the two companies’ working relationship beyond seven years, which began when Marshall’s stepped in to help Lucart when its previous haulage provider withdrew its services at almost no notice.

The sudden disruption placed significant pressure on Lucart’s operations and risked delays in delivering products to customers across the UK – but Marshall’s provided a full fleet of vehicles the same day, allowing deliveries to continue with minimal disruption.

A relationship which began with an urgent need for a reliable logistics partner has now expanded significantly, with Marshall’s supporting all Lucart’s UK pallet distribution requirements via its shareholder membership of the UK-wide Pallet-Track network.

Brian Simpson, operations director at Marshall’s Transport, said: ‘Back in 2019, I took a call from Lucart to explore whether we could step in and help restore distribution quickly after its previous provider had let it down.

‘On the same day the request was received, we organised a full fleet of vehicles to handle Lucart’s UK pallet distribution. This rapid response ensured Lucart’s goods were quickly back on the road, allowing deliveries to continue with minimal disruption to customers.

‘The professionalism and efficiency demonstrated in this critical moment laid the foundation for a trusted partnership.’

Since then, Marshall’s Transport has continued to provide consistent logistics support, maintaining the same urgency, attention to detail and high standards of service demonstrated on day one.

‘We provide Lucart with consistently reliable pallet distribution across the UK, as well as flexible logistics support, particularly when plans change at short notice,’ added Brian.

‘It is a relationship built on trust, strong communication and open conversations, which feels more like a long term partnership than a typical supplier arrangement.’

Julie Rhodes, customer service manager at Lucart, said: ‘Our partner haulage company Marshall’s Transport has consistently shown itself to be incredibly helpful, always ready to lend a hand and go above and beyond to support our efforts.

‘Its willingness to adapt and respond quickly to our needs has played a key role in helping us meet and exceed customer expectations.

‘We truly appreciate their reliability, flexibility, and commitment and we look forward to continuing this positive and collaborative partnership.’

Marshall’s Transport has also supported Lucart beyond day to day logistics operations.

For the last two years, it has provided a Luton van to support Lucart’s Christmas Tree charity campaign, and has sponsored Lucart team members in charity initiatives including skydiving and canoeing.
