Vicovanu Transport has strengthened its long standing relationship with Krone with the acquisition of a further 15 Box Liner FS10 sliding chassis trailers, all equipped with telematics and taking the company’s Krone fleet to approximately 109 units in service.

The latest investment reflects the continued success and expansion of the Thurrock based operator, which has built a strong reputation for providing reliable transport and multimodal logistics solutions across the UK and Europe.

As part of its ongoing fleet development strategy, Vicovanu is also accelerating the rollout of Krone Telematics across its container fleet, with 70 trailers now operating with the full package. The company plans to retrofit the remaining units in the future, creating a fully connected fleet capable of delivering greater operational visibility, improved maintenance planning and enhanced customer service.

Founded in 2013, Vicovanu Transport is a family run business specialising in container transport, offering a comprehensive range of road haulage services from its strategically located base in Thurrock, Essex. The company supports customers across a wide range of sectors with import and export movements, express deliveries, lift assist operations and multimodal logistics solutions covering road, rail, ocean and air freight.

‘The continued growth of our business means we need equipment that we can depend on every day,’ said Sergiu Vicovanu, managing director of Vicovanu Transport Ltd. ‘The Krone Box Liner has consistently delivered the reliability, flexibility and durability we require for intensive container operations, which is why we continue to invest in more Krone equipment as our fleet grows.

‘The relationship we have developed with Krone has been extremely positive. Its understanding of our operation and their ability to provide solutions that meet the demands of modern container transport gives us the confidence to continue expanding with their products.’

The integration of Krone Telematics is providing Vicovanu with a new level of visibility and control across its trailer fleet. The system provides real time information on trailer location, operating status and key technical data, helping fleet managers improve asset utilisation, plan maintenance more effectively and reduce downtime.

Through access to live trailer information, including mileage, braking system status, coupling information and diagnostic data, Vicovanu can identify potential issues earlier and make better informed operational decisions. For customers, this enhanced visibility supports more accurate planning and improved confidence that their container movements are being managed efficiently and reliably.

‘The move towards a fully connected Krone fleet represents another important step in our development,’ added Sergiu. ‘Having greater visibility of our assets and their condition helps us operate more efficiently and continue providing the high levels of service our customers expect.

‘Krone Telematics gives us valuable information that supports proactive fleet management, helping us maximise uptime and ensure our equipment is always ready for the next job.’

Each trailer is also equipped with Krone Smart Tyre Monitoring, which monitors tyre pressure and temperature in real time, helping improve safety, reduce the risk of tyre related incidents and support more efficient maintenance.
