Pall-Ex Group has signed a new 20 year brand license and partnership agreement with Italian Pallet Network SpA, the company which manages one of the most successful and strategic European Pall-Ex network: Pall-Ex Italia.

The agreement secures the continued development of the Pall-Ex brand within Italy and marks the next phase in a strategic partnership that has helped establish Pall-Ex as a leader in the European palletised freight sector.

Launched in 2009 as the group’s first overseas Pall-Ex network, Pall-Ex Italia has since grown to become its largest European partner network.

Today, Pall-Ex Italia handles circa 19,000 pallets per night through its network of more than 200 local members, with nine hubs across the Italian peninsula, three of these being flagship locations in Milan, Bologna and Padua.

The renewed partnership agreement reflects the strength of the long standing relationship between both businesses and creates a platform for continued growth across the Italian and wider European logistics markets.

The announcement follows a series of recent strategic developments across Europe by Pall-Ex Group, including the acquisition of Pall-Ex Iberia by Cologne based Emons Logistics Group and the launch of a new distribution hub for Pall-Ex France.

Kevin Buchanan, group CEO, said: ‘Pall-Ex Italia represents one of the great success stories across our wider European operations. Beginning as the group’s first overseas partner, it has grown into the group’s largest and most established international partner.

‘This new agreement reflects the strength of our relationship and our shared ambition for success. Melissa Alberti and her team have successfully evolved the original Pall-Ex model for the Italian market, while continuing to uphold the standards of excellence that define our organisation.

‘As part of this next chapter, Melissa Alberti will also take on a strategic role as an advisor to the Pall-Ex European board, where she will contribute to the continued development and success of our wider European network.’

Melissa Alberti, CEO of Italian Pallet Network SpA, added: ‘Pall-Ex Italia’s success has been built on strong partnerships, operational excellence and the commitment of our members and people across the network.

‘This agreement represents an important milestone for our business and reinforces the strength of our long standing partnership with Pall-Ex Group. Together, we will continue to invest in the network and drive further growth both across the Italian market and the wider European network.’
