Pall-Ex Group, an international logistics operator has appointed Barry Byers as its first-ever chief operating officer (COO)
Since joining the Leicestershire-based company in 2020 as managing director, Byers has navigated Pall-Ex and Fortec – its two UK pallet networks – through a particularly challenging period for the industry.
Bringing nearly three decades of experience in logistics, he will play a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and driving its continued growth.
His appointment is part of a series of leadership promotions as Pall-Ex Group positions itself for expansion across both its UK and European business units.
Kevin Buchanan remains at the helm as chief executive officer, while Barry Byers steps into the COO role.
Dave Dunhill continues as chief technology officer and Paul Robins takes on the role of chief financial officer.
Byers said: “I would like to express my gratitude to the board of directors and the Pall-Ex and Fortec shareholder members for the support they have demonstrated during the past five years. I have enjoyed my role as Managing Director immensely and am delighted to accept this new challenge to lead the business over the years ahead.”
Throughout his five years with the company, he has led several initiatives that have fueled significant growth for Pall-Ex and Fortec.
He has been instrumental in developing the company’s nationwide storage and fulfilment network, opening up new opportunities for Pall-Ex Group members as the business evolves beyond a traditional pallet network.
