Dozens of jobs are at risk after the Palletline Group announced plans to close its Wrexham operation

Dozens of jobs are at risk after the UK’s leading palletised freight distribution network announced plans to close its Wrexham operation.

The Palletline Group made the announcement this week, with the Wrexham postcode coverage being assigned to existing network members.

It comes just months after the local operation rebranded from Ningbo Wrexham to Palletline Wrexham

In a statement at the time a Palletline spokesperson said the “rebrand would align the business with the group’s values and also ensure customers and prospects benefit from the breadth of expertise and wide range of services available as part of the Palletline group.”

However dozens of jobs locally are now at risk following the decision to close the Wrexham operation.

A Palletline spokesperson said it would work with “network members in the region to secure alternative employment.

The spokesperson said: “The Palletline Group has made the decision to close its Palletline Logistics Wrexham operation, reassigning its postcode coverage area to existing network members.

“The group’s strategy for its Palletline Logistics businesses is to return its operations to member control where appropriate.

“To that extent, we have collaborated with four existing members to realign delivery areas, ensuring sure full network coverage, whilst supporting their strategic growth plans and eliminating continuing on-going losses at Palletline Wrexham..

“The Palletline team are working closely with network members in the region to secure alternative employment opportunities where possible for those affected by the closure.”
