The group has invested more than £1m in its fleet and new key areas of the business

A Southampton-based provider of international freight and transport logistics services has invested more than £1m in its fleet and new key areas of the business.

Meachers Global Logistics has used the £1m to invest in ten trailers and six tractors, with several of the trailers set to be dual branded with its customer Prysmian Cables and Systems.

Meachers’ former commercial director Gary Whittle has also taken over the role of operations director, following the retirement of Rob Lewis in March.

Mark Lee has joined the team as general manager, while Emma Newman has become warehouse operations manager.

Gary Whittle, operations director, said: “Prysmian is a long-standing trading client and so we are pleased to foster our relationship by increasing the fleet size and including them on the branding.

“We’re investing in our assets and building for the future to make us bigger and more resilient.

“We’re supporting the infrastructure of the organisation, with training, promotions and new faces joining us in key mid-management roles.

“We’re aiming for a broad resilient team in anticipation of future customer demands.”
