Oxford-based logistics company has acquired Formaplex Technologies, F1 components manufacturer
An Oxford-headquartered logistics and transportation company has acquired Formaplex Technologies, a lightweight components manufacturer which serves McLaren as one of its customers.
Founded in 1987, Unipart provides supply chain solutions and performance improvement technologies.
A specialist tooling partner in the F1 automotive sector, Formaplex Technologies has grown to become a key UK supplier of polymer and composite services and one of the few premium polymer injection moulding specialists in the UK supply chain, specialising in lightweight components.
McLaren has said it is fully supportive of the acquisition and remains committed to working with the business in the future.
Unipart will integrate the operations into its existing manufacturing capability portfolio, ensuring continuity and maintaining the high operational and safety standards both companies deliver.
From today (6 August), Formaplex will be rebranded to Unipart Polymer and Composite Solutions.
