Andy Gillies has been appointed logistics director at Morrisons.
He previously worked as group logistics director for food manufacturer Greencore from 2022 to 2025, having formerly worked as its business unit director, direct to store from 2016 until 2022.
He also served as Aldi UK regional logistics director from 1999 to 2016, where he was in charge of the brand’s warehouse and distribution operations within the Midlands, after joining as an area manager in 1996.
Posting on LinkedIn, Morrisons said that the exec brought “a wealth of experience from over 30 years in retail and logistics” to the role
Gillies said: “I’m really pleased to join such an iconic British retailer. Grocery is a tough and competitive sector, and with my team, my responsibility will be to deliver great service and availability to our stores, while finding operational efficiencies to reduce cost.”
In July, Morrisons head of property David Scott departed from the company to pursue “new opportunities” following eight years in the position.
The move followed the supermarket stating that it was reviewing the resourcing of its property team at its Bradford head office.
