A Manchester recruitment, logistics and training services has been acquired in deals overseen by administrators at FRP Advisory.

Headquartered in Greater Manchester with about 320 permanent employees and 13,500 temporary workers, the deals protect the ‘vast majority’ of both permanent and temporary roles.

Martyn Rickels and Anthony Collier of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators of four entities in the Wigan-based Challenge-trg Recruitment Group Ltd.

The main trading entity, recruitment agency Challenge-trg Recruitment Group Ltd, predominantly sourced temporary workers for industries including logistics and food manufacturing.

The group also includes two additional companies – Challenge Logistics Ltd, which operates a logistics fleet; and Challenge TRG Skills Ltd, which provides various training courses.

Immediately following the appointment, the administrators completed sales of the group’s three divisions, protecting the vast majority of both permanent and temporary roles at the companies.

The recruitment and training businesses were acquired by CTRG Ltd, part of the Swipejobs Group, while the majority of the logistics business was sold to logistics company William Stobart and Son Ltd.

Martyn Rickels, joint administrator and partner at FRP, said: “We’re pleased to have secured a positive outcome that preserves the group’s core operations and protects thousands of jobs.

“The sales were completed swiftly, minimising disruption for clients and workers, and we’re now supporting a smooth transition to the new owners.”
