The secure, safe and dedicated space for drivers as they travel between the UK and Europe – has celebrated a momentous milestone this week, welcoming its one millionth visitor since opening in 2020.
The one millionth driver, Enus Ionut, was welcomed by the LeShuttle Freight team and presented with his certificate on arrival. Coming from Romania, Enus crosses between the UK and continental Europe weekly using LeShuttle Freight. Speaking to Enus as he was presented the award, he commented that he “always made sure to stop off at LeShuttle Freight Village”, and that his favourite things are “the security, cleanliness, and the welcoming team members” – as well as the food truck, which he loves.
The achievement comes on the heels of an expectational year for LeShuttle Freight Village cementing its secure and safe credentials.
LeShuttle Freight Village provides a purpose-built environment for freight drivers, designed to support their comfort, wellbeing, and daily needs. On-site facilities include freshly prepared food, free hot drinks in the dedicated lounge, showers, laundry services, Wi-Fi, and a rolling calendar of live events — all intended to enhance the driver experience beyond expectations.
This commitment to service excellence was recognised with a special commendation in the Large Parking Area category at the 2025 ESPORG Awards. The accolade reflects the team’s dedication to delivering exceptional customer care and operational standards.
As driver and cargo security remains paramount at LeShuttle Freight Village, special attention is given to all touchpoints. With over 309 spaces available, LeShuttle Freight Village has invested in the highest level of protection, including a 40km perimeter fence encircling the entire French terminal, always-on CCTV cameras, thermal detection sensors, drones, double entry gates, floodlights and regular patrols. In recognition of this continuous dedication to safety, LeShuttle Freight Village was awarded the prestigious gold certification by ESPORG, a highly recognised European security award within the freight and logistics industry.
Aude Bourdel, Freight Product and Customer Engagement Director at LeShuttle, comments: “I know the whole team at LeShuttle Freight is proud to have achieved this milestone in under five years. It is wonderful to be able to offer this dedicated, secure, and comfortable space for so many drivers as they cross between the UK and Europe. The feedback we receive is overwhelmingly positive, and its incredibly rewarding to be able to spend time with drivers yesterday and hear how they think we have the best truck park in Europe! We are dedicated to continuing to invest in and improve the well-being and comfort of drivers to meet the evolving needs of customers and drivers. We look forward to continuing to welcome drivers to LeShuttle Freight Village and celebrating our next milestone soon.”
