Bicester-based Darcica Logistics has added a new zero-emissions truck to its fleet, which makes pallet deliveries and collections around Oxfordshire.

he 18-tonne DAF XB electric truck, designed and produced by Leyland Trucks, has a 16-pallet body size and a driving range of up to 300km.

A family-run business, Darcica has already electrified its diesel vans, introduced electric forklift trucks in its depots, and added a fully electric 3.5-tonne truck primarily for its Oxford city centre deliveries.

“We’re excited to add the new DAF XB truck to our fleet,” said owner Anthony Tattersall.

“It’s fully branded and even has a Darcica registration number EV25 DAR, which will be easy to spot around Oxfordshire.

“We estimate the truck will save 10 tonnes of CO2 a year and expands our service to urban and regional customers with sustainable deliveries.”

Darcica is among more than 120 independent transport providers in the Palletways UK network.

The Palletways Group provides collection and distribution services across 24 European countries.
