Oxfordshire-based Transense Technologies, through its Translogik division, has secured a contract with Logistics UK to develop a new tyre monitoring service.
With more than 21,000 members, Logistics UK conducts over 50,000 vehicle inspections annually. To improve the efficiency of its inspection services, it has partnered with Transense Technologies to develop a tailored service.
The new project enables Logistics UK to offer a tyre condition monitoring service for a wide range of fleet types and sizes, positioning Translogik as a key player in enhancing the technology supporting the UK transport sector.
Under an initial three-year agreement, Logistics UK will deploy Translogik’s TLGX tyre inspection tools and TIRETASK software, integrated with Vision, Logistics UK’s compliance and certification software.
The nationwide rollout will cover more than 65 vehicle inspection experts, following a thorough testing phase where Logistics UK engineers trialled the tools and provided feedback to refine the solution.
The system combines enhanced data collection via mobile tablets, a customized TIRETASK inspection app, and cloud-based data storage, improving data capture, efficiency, and time savings. It aims to streamline the inspection process by reducing the administrative tasks of report writing and uploading.
Chris Lipscomb, operations director at Logistics UK, said: “After a comprehensive trial and collaboration with Transense, we are looking forward to deploying this digital inspection solution. The TLGX tools and TIRETASK software will improve our inspection process, providing better data quality and insight for our members.”
“Tyre management is essential for fleet operations. Proper tyre management can lead to benefits such as better fuel consumption, longer tyre life, and fewer roadside breakdowns. It also helps reduce waste, which is better for the environment.”
“This rollout will set a new standard for vehicle inspections, offering real cost savings in fuel, tyres, and maintenance through data-driven insights and streamlined workflows in our Vision platform.”
Ryan Maughan, managing director at Transense Technologies, added: “Our agreement with Logistics UK is a significant milestone for Transense and highlights the value of our solutions in the fleet and logistics sectors.
“This partnership underscores the growing role of digital transformation in vehicle compliance and inspection services, and we are pleased to support Logistics UK in delivering advanced services to their members.
