A strategic 17-acre brownfield site in Avonmouth has launched for sale

Cushman & Wakefield and Alder King have been jointly instructed by the freeholder Bristol City Council and the undisclosed long leaseholder to sell the plot of land for industrial &and logistics development purposes.

Known as Atlantic 18, the site is located next to junction 18/18a of the M5, with direct access to the national motorway network and routes into South Wales via the M49. Within one mile are Avonmouth docks, and Royal Portbury Docks three miles to the south west via Junction 19 of the M5.

The site is well connected by public transport. The new Portway Park & Ride Railway Station and Avonmouth Station both lie on the Severn Beach line, linking Avonmouth with Bristol Temple Meads Station.

The property is being offered for sale by either a freehold or long leasehold interest. Bids being sought on 11 December 2024. Managing the bid process and sale of the land are Cushman & Wakefield and Alder King.

Henry de Teissier, partner in Cushman & Wakefield’s national Logistics & Industrial team, said: “The launch of this significant site in Avonmouth presents an incredibly attractive opportunity to secure a prime plot in one of the UK’s most important Industrial & Logistics centres. The location’s unrivalled public transport connections set it apart from other sites in the area.”

Andrew Ridler, partner, and head of Alder Kings Industrial & Logistics Team, added: “This is the biggest industrial development site to be released to the market in the region this year and has enormous potential for speculative Industrial & Logistics development or for owner occupation. As a result, we are receiving a strong amount of early interest.”
