Dublin-headquartered logistics and customs clearance companies opens ‘Irish Pallet Hub‘.
Dublin headquartered Toga Group, which comprises freight forwarding, logistics and customs clearance companies in the UK and Ireland, has opened it’s new “Irish Pallet Hub” in Coleshill, Birmingham.
The 160,000 sq. ft shared user facility in Hams Hall Distribution Park houses staff from Toga Freight and the Group’s UK subsidiary, Irish Sea Logistics Ltd and has started formal operations today.
Speaking of the expansion, Robert Dickinson, Managing Director of Toga Group said; “This is just natural progression for us. We have been lucky for many years, decades even, to have been working with excellent suppliers and partners in Great Britain, but a tipping point has been reached where we have become the dominant partner in several partner relationships, so much so that the economics showed that we needed to build a new strategy of keeping the shipments within the Group”
Dickinson continued; “Today we load over 20 groupage trailers every day in Great Britain destined for Ireland, along with numerous full loads. When you reach such market leading volumes it is time for a change of tack to maximise margins, but mainly to improve the customer experience for our 12,000+ account customers.”
Newly appointed Group Commercial Director, Paul Mountford, who oversees all activities in the UK for Toga Group and Irish Sea Logistics stated, “What we have created here in Coleshill is a market leading solution for any British exporter to Ireland. The facilities are first class, the team we have assembled here have been selected from the best available in their fields with experience at their core. The staff have all subscribed to the unique culture within Toga and have shown that together, we can be a formidable force that benefits the cargo owner. What we offer here is not available anywhere else. There are no other Irish owned, Irish headquartered, UK based Pallet or freight hubs dedicated to supplying Ireland. The board have invested heavily in infrastructure including property, trailers and staff to ensure the premium service that Toga is renowned for is further improved.”
Asking Robert Dickinson about the next part in the strategy, he continues, “Since Brexit and COVID, the flows from GB to Ireland became disrupted and complicated. We have uncomplicated that and offer standard next day delivery to Dublin at a very reasonable rate. It is something we do about 800 times a day and we have made common place.
There are many impersonators in the GB to Ireland groupage market, but if you want to experience simplicity and utmost customer care, you wont find it anywhere else”.
The new Operations Manager in Coleshill hub, Alex Cookson remarks, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this team, surely the best in the business. With the existing sister company in Erith already loading multiple trailers to Dublin each week, and I’ve seen the plans for the Northwest for early 2025, this is the perfect time to establish an Irish freight Hub in the very best located distribution park in England. “
